Funeral services for Wanda C. Williams were held at the Bright Funeral Home. Rev. William R. Lash, pastor of the Second Baptist church, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Webster Pollard, former pastor of the church, and Rev. N. L. Holland, pastor of the Calvary Tabernacle. Mrs. William R. Lash sang “Just a Closer Walk With Thee.” She also led the congregation in singing “Nearer My God To Thee,” “Savior More Than Life To Me” and “The Old Ship of Zion.” Curtis E. Bright was organist. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were Leslie Dean, Joe Robinson, Van D. Tapp, Murray Burdett, Jesse Burdett and Luther Rankin. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. – jlr
